Wranglers

Kerrie and Peyton

Nica and Lori joined the team of Shangrila Guest Ranch in February of 2017. These best friends met through their horse love and passion at a horse ranch in northern Michigan. Nica graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Fine Arts – Graphic Design, and is currently painting (mostly horses) as a pastime! Lori has a Bachelor degree in Special Education from Ohio University, with a minor in Communication Science Disorders. She’s certified as a Reading Specialist and focuses on building upon her therapeutic riding experience. Through experiencing the work as wranglers for 5 years they took their dream overseas to New Zealand. Throughout their travels they experienced riding English discipline, giving lessons and passing their love and understanding of horses to children and those with special needs. These adventure seeking girls led treks in the most rugged parts of the country and their drive to create a home for horses and build their passion only increased. Nica is originally from Wisconsin and Lori is from Ohio. Through different experiences and backgrounds both girls worked hard to follow their dreams and now have joined us to explore beautiful southern Virginia and inside this horse world at Shangrila. They have discovered comfort and found peace with horses and want  to share that with you. Come join them here, they are happy to help you enjoy hourly rides in the forest, peaceful packages, and much more to embrace your horse love and simple country living.
